How to wear: Culottes and Bright Citrus Colours
Because it’s summertime (it really is! Kudos to you, London weather) and bright citrus colours don’t just belong in the fridge or fruit bowl.
Lord knows I love a good basic all-black outfit. But every now and again, something comes over me and I feel the urge to follow my mum’s advice for once and throw some brights into the mix (“the mix” being my wardrobe). And with it being summer and all, it only made sense to try some lighter colours.
I have a feeling that the favourite colour of beauty brands and fashion houses alike right now is blood orange. I can’t tell you how many articles I’ve seen online about the orange manicure you need to try now, or the orange pieces we need to buy.* So here’s my own: and working this trend wasn’t quite as impossible as you might think.
Culottes are admittedly pretty tricky to pull off. I’ve tried to answer the question of how to wear them by pairing mine with a simple white blouse that’s both office and after-hours friendly, an eye-catching handbag and my trusty perspex block heels. But I reckon culottes could look equally cool with a jumper and trainers – quite like what I did here.
Are you a fan of culottes? And are you into the blood orange trend (or nah)?
